Apocalypse...eventually dude. Just not Now. I'm too high.

Variety reports that Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel of 'Knocked Up' fame are once again teaming up for 'Jay and Seth vs. Apocalypse'. The short that inspired the film and the feature were penned by Rogen and Superbad co-writer Evan Goldberg.

Yep, you guessed it, Seth is smoked out and Jay is the gawky awkward neurotic guy.

Although I'm a fan of Rogen, the same actors in essentially the same comedies is starting to feel a bit Sandlerish (yeah i just did that). It's Rogen's time to shine and that's cool, i get that, besides Seth's rise to fame gives chubby hairy guys like me hope. I just wish I knew that my friends smoked out high school conversations were good enough to pitch to a studio.

"Dude, you know what would be crazy right now, like if the world ended and it was just us."

"That sounds like a movie man."

"Dude, we should totally get representation."

"What?"

"Nothing man, lunch time is almost over, just pass that s**t."

Opportunity missed!

Behold the trailer for the short that started it all, its like Toy Story with slightly less convincing acting.

Respawned?

Although i haven't read Spawn in years I do always keep my eyes open for news about the title. I was a huge fan but over the years its lost that certain something that once keep me coming back. What's not to love, great concept, it revolutionized the industry and it pushed envelopes that were never dared pushed. Yet I stayed away thinking its time had come and passed.

Hearing that coming this October Todd McFarlane, Whilce Portacio and writer Brian Holguin are teaming up to take it in a possible different direction thrills me to no end. Here's a excerpt from the Spawn.com article.

"We've just been talking with everybody involved about what we can do to inspire the readers," McFarlane says. "One of them was to take the book in a different direction in terms of the storyline, and the other was to take it in a bit of a different direction artistically, too."

Damn you comics, just when i give you up, you pull me back in.

'Valkyrie' Trailer...show me the Hilter!

The newest trailer for 'Valkyrie', the Tom Cruise movie about the attempted assassination of Adolf Hitler is out, and boy does it make me not really care. No seriously, i should care, its Hitler.

Apathy aside, pointing out that the director of X-Men and Superman Returns made this movie kind of has me expecting to see Wolverine going all berserker style on Adolf (I'd pay full price for that).

With one liners and scenes reminiscent of Interview with the Vampire, Mission Impossible and Far and Away it raises the question many on the internets are asking. Is Tom Cruise miscast for this role? Honestly, i think hes awesome in whatever he gets his hands on. Magnolia anyone? I just feel that his celebrity distracts too much from whatever material he chooses, or maybe it's 'cause he's surrounded by British actors. Lets face it, Kenneth Branagh makes anyone look silly, especially when your wearing an eye patch.

Valkyrie Trailer.

Wait!!!... I figured out why it seems a bit off....no F'n German accents!...ugh.

The Oregon Trail...for your phone.

Granted the details of the game have escaped me but the memory of wasting time is school never does. Sure it was an educational game but to me it was an excuse to not have to deal with jerks or as my teacher called them "classmates". At any rate The Oregon Trail by Gameloft is now available for your mobile phone. Now I have an excuse to not deal with adult jerks or as my boss calls them "co-workers".

'The Spirit' Poster Asks Naughty Question.

The latest character poster for Frank Miller's 'The Spirit' uses Eva Mendes' sex appeal. Apparently her character likes it on the face. Cochina!

Long live Queen!

I was a huge fan of the Randy Queen title Darkchylde, great art and story. Queen was a rising star in the latest crop of comic creators. Then he just disappeared. Now my friends, he's coming back
with a whole new series and it sounds pretty dope.

Space pirates, check...dinosaurs, check....cannibals, check...zombie dinosaurs and cannibals...sweet F'n check!

Peep an excerpt from the press release.

LOS ANGELES, Calif., June 4, 2008 – Top Cow Productions, Inc. announced today it will publish Starfall, a new, original science fiction and fantasy series created by fan-favorite Darkchylde writer and artist, Randy Queen. While the project will not be solicited until all the issues are finished, a preview book of the series will debut at the Top Cow booth at San Diego Comic-Con July 24-27.

“The high concept of the series is this: Space pirates crash land on an uncharted jungle planet and unknowingly unleash a degenerative nanobot technology that turns the local dinosaur and cannibal populace into raging zombies!” explained Queen. “The story’s main protagonist is Sierra Starfall, a female Flash Gordon/Tarzan type character who’shot wired with Dragon DNA and over 100 years old, despite not looking a day over 25. Sierra is legendary and considered by many to be the Galaxy’s Greatest Warrior. She is the commander of a fiercely loyal rogues gallery of Alien Mercs, who have survived and vanquished many perils. This time they won’t.”

The introductory storyline chronicles the last mission of Starfall’s valiant crew. “It will be a study on how the dynamics of a team book become the dynamics of a solo book as the pirates meet their collective fates on this savage planet. And they do not go quietly into that good night!” expressed Queen.

Hellboy: The Golden Army animated prelude, warm and familiar.

The premise of the animated Hellboy II: The Golden Army prelude sounds oddly familiar. Almost as if I've been raised with it all my fantasy story loving life. Hmm, at any rate it does look awesome.

As an aside, maybe it's just me being cynical but why are all movie elves regal and white and all hardworking grunts are evil and dark, or in this case "Golden"? Hopefully the next installment will address this blatant discrimination....Hellboy III: Affirmative Action!

Your not the Dungeon Master of me!

I have to admit, I never played D&D. I could have in my teen years but the echoes of my mother telling me "Eso es del demonio" would haunt me in my sleep. The release of D&D 4th edition and its new online features has slayed that beast. Take that mommy, your lil warrior is all grown up...+29 courage!

I can feel my sperm count drop already.

I...Have...The...Script!

Actually Latino Review has a script draft of the long talked about He-Man movie 'Greyskull: Masters of the Universe' which apparently is a mix of "LORD OF THE RINGS meets THE MATRIX and a little BATMAN BEGINS thrown in for good measure."

Great, another movie thats way too long, has really obvious CGI and tickles our sacks with nostalgia long enough to distract us from realizing your watching a movie based on a cartoon that your own toddler nephew says doesn't hold up.

Who cares!...Its fookin' He-Man!...I'll be there. Unfortunately Orko will not.

You Know How I Know Your High?

Whether you believe it was fake or not I'm sure you want to see Pineapple Express even more then you did before (probably because pineapple sounds sooo good to you right now).

Seth Rogan and James Franco smoking out on MTV. Watch and be apathetic.

The best part is the crowd reactions, especially Robert Downey Jr. at 1:08. Oh the stories he could tell.

Honest to Blog?!

The Hollywood Reporter is well, reporting, that the Diablo Cody penned series 'The United States of Tara' has been picked up by Showtime. The Oscar winning 'Juno' screenwriter will also serve as an executive producer along side Steven Spielberg.

My only question is, really? WTF?!!!...granted the show hasn't even aired so its way too premature to criticize but still, she's working with Spielberg? Then again he did agree to turn Shia Labeouf into Tarzan in the latest Indiana Jones movie. I would have loved to have heard the conversation where Diablo convinced Spielberg that she originated such Oscar worthy terms as "homeskillet" and "pork swords."

Vegas Zombie...Vegas!!!

Variety reports that Warner Bros. is making 'Army of the Dead'. An action thriller that takes place in a zombie infested Las Vegas. Apparently the film makers haven't been informed that zombies can already be found roaming the strip. The most dangerous being the fraternity brother zombie, they just don't understand that "no" means "NO!"
